Pastor DeAngelo Loftin started the ministry with bible study expanding across the Tidewater area. Throughout the introduction of PLCC, Elder Loftin enlarged his knowledge in ministry, church management and cross training with several local ministries. In 2017 Elder DeAngelo Loftin decided to restructure the church which also included changing its name from Purpose Life Ministries to its current identity. After intensive planning and preparation, Purpose Life Community Church evolved into a full time functioning ministry in Spring 2018 in the city of Chesapeake, Va.
The churches charter members was Elder Loftin his wife and their children; but in one year the church started seeing substantial growth which resulted to over 200 members. In 2019 PLCC established an urban initiative program called “Fresh Start Mentorship” which mentored youth ages 7-17. In addition to the mentorship, the church hosted and provided a weekly food giveaway and began the Entrepreneur Network. In 2021 Pastor Loftin was officially consecrated as the Senior Pastor of PLCC. Extensions were needed to meet the needs of the growing ministry, so the church was able to install an Executive Pastor and ordain an Evangelist, several Missionaries and a Deacon. The ministry plans to be a major staple in the community at large and undoubtedly believes the best is yet to come.
RITA STITH LOFTIN is the youngest child and only daughter of Deacon Raymond and Evangelist Erveena Stith. Raised in a family who is rooted in God, her parents saw it vital to raise their childrenin holiness. From birth until her marriage to Pastor Deangelo Loftin, she was a member of new jerusalem cogic that was founded by the late Bishop Barnett Thoroughgood. While pregnant with RITA, then Elder Thorough good, laid hands on her mother and said, “this child will preach the gospel to nations and god is going to use her mightily”. LADY RITA was active in the ministry from a child to adulthood in various departments: choir, usher, cheerleader and choir director to name a few. many life changing obstacles has been presented in her life that others would not have been able to survive, but it did not keep her from accomplishing goals and being successful. She proudly owns two businesses and works in the behavioral health system for anthem’s government business division/clinical.
LADY RITA was an athlete and graduated from the Virginia Beach school system. She continued her education by obtaining a degree and studies in the medical field, criminal justice with a minor in social work and as of recent biblical studies/theology via regent university. She is the mother of 3 biological sons and 2 children by marriage
LADY RITA met the love of her life Pastor Loftin many years ago and they happened to cross paths again in 2016. These two were married in october 2018 and officially started Purpose Life Community Church the following month. what started in 2018 as a 9 member congregation has currently grown to a documented family of 90-100 members in 2021 that she loves tremendously. Lady Rita stands beside her husband in ministry as the Co Pastor of PLCC and truly believes in guiding their members to achieve their God given destiny.
LADY RITA’S life is a story of resilience, perseverance, solidity, faith and purpose. There is more to be written as this journey has just begun
